Meet our CEO, Jeff Lerg!

 

Starting as a passion project as a sophomore in college at Michigan State University, he founded Future Pro USA in 2007. As a former Athletic and Academic All-American Division I goaltender at MSU, he helped lead the Spartans to the 2007 National Championship and earned the “Male Athlete of the Year” award at MSU on two separate occasions. 

 

Jeff has the distinction of receiving both the USA Hockey Junior Hockey Player of the Year and College Hockey Player of the Year Awards.  He built his Future Pro USA Goalie School while playing ten years of professional hockey at the minor league level in the U.S. and Europe. More recently, Jeff founded Goalie Mentors which has become the hub of Future Pro USA, encompassing all of the on-site and virtual goaltending development offerings. What started as a passion project 20+ years ago has transpired into his full-time career of developing the next generation of goaltending while implementing reliable and educational resources for goalies and their families!

In addition, Jeff is a co-host of The Dialed & Driven Hockey Mentality Podcast — a show built for athletes, coaches, and parents who want to understand the mindset behind peak performance in hockey. ​Each episode explores a new angle of the hockey journey—whether it’s handling pressure, building confidence, overcoming setbacks, or developing the daily discipline it takes to succeed at any level. With personal experiences, guest insights, and practical strategies, the conversations are designed to help athletes stay dialed in to the present moment and driven toward their goals.
